Mission & Overview
What We Do
FolkloreStudies.org is a global, egalitarian platform for folklore practitioners, scholars, artists, and communities — built to gather, preserve, and connect the living traditions that shape how people understand themselves and one another.
We host a journal of articles and research papers, a repository of field notes, audio, video, and image galleries, and a calendar of seminars, conferences, webinars, and lectures. The Atlas connects everything to place.
Who We Serve
Folklorists, anthropologists, oral historians, ethnomusicologists, and the communities whose traditions are studied and shared. We aim to lower the cost of entry for emerging researchers and to honor the cultures whose stories appear here.
How We Work
Our work is governed by the Initiative Constitution and the Ethics statement. New researchers can find their footing through The Next Generation program.
