FolkloreStudies.org is built on a foundation of cultural respect and ethical practice. We recognize that folklore is not simply data to be collected — it represents the living heritage of communities worldwide.

Traditional Knowledge Labels

We support Traditional Knowledge (TK) labels that allow indigenous communities to express local and specific conditions for sharing and engaging with their cultural heritage.

Cultural Verification

Content pinned to specific regions or communities can be verified for cultural accuracy by moderators with regional expertise. Verified content receives a badge indicating it has been reviewed by someone with relevant cultural knowledge.

Community Guidelines

All content must be shared with respect for the communities it represents. Exploitative, decontextualized, or culturally insensitive content will be flagged and reviewed by our moderation team.
